1996-2002 Pontiac TransAm, Firebird, Chevrolet Camaro

OPTION 1: Installation at BCM

The TDM is embedded in the BCM, so all connections are on the BCM. The BCM is under the right side of the dash. Remove the sound insulator then you can get it at the BCM connectors.

And the BCM is here.

The BCM has 3 connectors, 2 smaller ones, C1 and C2, then a larger Blue one, C3, where all the connections will be made.

Disconnect the Battery. Unplug the Blue connector, C3, Cut the yellow/black on pin C11 and the Dark Blue on pin D8 and tape these out of the way coming from the BCM.

If the enclosure of your NEWROCKIES PRO Module is green and blue, please setup the switches as following (if enclosure is black, please submit a request to our support team for correct switch configurations):

Open the NEWROCKIES PRO Module's cover (this will NOT void the warranty) by removing the 2 screws on the bottom. Inside there are 2 sets of switches.

Set SW1 (8 switches) as following:

DIP SWITCHES (SW1)
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
off off on off on off on off

Leave SW2 (10 switches) the way it is. Close the PRO Module's cover.

To install the NEWROCKIES PRO Module, connect it as following:

PRO Bypass

Car Wires

RED

Splice to  BCM Blue connector C3, Pin D5(PNK)

BLK

Splice to  BCM Connector C3 pin C1 (BLK)

PPL

Cut the YEL/BLK wire at the BCM Connector C3, pin C11 (YEL/BLK) and attach the PPL of the PRO bypass to the YEL/BLK going away from the BCM. Tape the side toward the BCM.

GRN

Cut the Dark blue wire at the BCM Connector C3, pin D8 (DK BLUE) and attach the Green of the PRO bypass to the dark blue going away from the BCM. Tape the side toward the BCM.

Plug the BCM connector back in and connect the battery.

IMPORTANT: If your car still does not start, please follow the troubleshooting directions for PASSKEY 1/2/3 Systems before contacting our support team. This will make it easier and faster for us to handle your support questions and will enable us to serve you better.

The installation is completed.

Option 2: Installation at PCM

If you don’t have the BCM (i.e. project/race car) you can install the PRO bypass at the PCM. Locate the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) as in the diagrams below and disconnect connector C1 (Blue). This is the connector where all the connections will be made.

Leave SW2 (10 switches) the way it is. Close the PRO Module's cover.

To install the NEWROCKIES PRO Module, connect it as following:

- Before installation, cut the wire at BCM Connector C3, pin C11 (YEL/BLK) and connect the part of this wire that is leading toward the harness (NOT toward the BCM) to BCM Connector C3 pin C1 (BLK). - refer to OPTION-1 instructions for location of BCM and pinout of C3 connector.

  1. Cut the DK-Blue wire on PCM connector C1 Pin 55 a couple of inches before the connector and connect the GRN wire of the PRO-Full Bypass to it toward the PCM
  2. Make a 3 wire splice between the RED & WHITE wires of the PRO Bypass and the PNK wire on PCM connector C1 pin 19.
  3. Make a 3 wire splice between the BLK wire of the PRO Bypass and the BLK/WHT wire on PCM connector C1 pin 21

IMPORTANT: If your car still does not start, please follow the troubleshooting directions for PASSKEY 1/2/3 Systems before contacting our support team. This will make it easier and faster for us to handle your support questions and will enable us to serve you better.
